1年生の発音法の授業をご紹介します。

Recently,  we are looking at strong and weak forms in pronunciation.

Did you know the most common sound in English? It’s called the “schwa” sound and it sounds like “uh”.

We use this sound very often in spoken English.

Because of linking and weak pronunciation of grammatical words, it can be very difficult to hear all the words in a sentence.

Quite often sentences can sound very different to the way we actually say them.

最近では、授業では発音の強弱形に注目しています。

英語で最も一般的な音はご存知でしょうか？それは「シュワ」音と呼ばれ、”uh”のように聞こえます。

この音は、英語の話し言葉で非常によく使います。

リンキングや文法的な単語の弱い発音のため、文の中のすべての単語を聞き取るのは非常に難しいことがあります。

よくある文章は、実際に話すときとは非常に異なるように聞こえます。

For example,

“Do you want an ice cream?” Sounds like “Do you want a nice cream?”

“I need a drink of water.”  Sounds like “I need a drinker water.”

“We cooked a chicken.” Sounds like “We cook to chicken.”

例えば、

“Do you want an ice cream?” は “Do you want a nice cream?” のように聞こえます。

“I need a drink of water.” は “I need a drinker water.” のように聞こえます。

“We cooked a chicken.” は “We cook to chicken.” のように聞こえます。
