Here is an update on one of our sports English modules.

今回はスポーツ英語II の話をしたいと思います。

In this module, we focus on football or soccer if you’re from across the pond (if you are from America).

この科目は、サッカー（英語ではフットボールもしくはサッカー）について（英語で）学んでいます。

Recently, we have been talking about results and competitions.

最近、試合や大会の結果の言い方を勉強しています。

The students are getting better at talking about scores in the match and after the match.

学生は、だんだん試合中そして試合後にスコアについて話すのが上手になってきました。

Here is an example:

例えば、

A 2 – 1 B

How would you say this score?  Check below to see if you were right.

このスコアなら、英語で何と言えばいいでしょう。回答は下記にあるので、興味のある方は、確認してください。

During the game we can say;

試合中なら、こういう言い方があります。

B are losing to A two, one.

A are winning against B two, one.

A are beating B two, one.

If the game is finished, we can say;

試合後なら、こういう言い方があります。

B lost to A two, one.

A won against B two, one.

A beat B two, one.
