Basic English IIの授業では家事に関する表現や友達の誘い方、電話越しでの予約方法など日常生活で役に立つ英語をジャレット先生と共に学びます。

This is a class for our First-year students. They had a speaking test. They talked about their housemates and what chores each person does at home. Some students mentioned cleaning the bathroom, taking out the trash, or cooking dinner. It was a good chance to use vocabulary from everyday life.

Next, students practiced inviting a friend to an event. They had to give details like the time, place, and where and when to meet up. One student invited their friend to a drive down the coast. They practiced sounding friendly and polite.

Finally, students made a reservation. They had to ask about available days and times, and choose
the best location for the customer. This activity helped students think about how to ask questions clearly and confirm important details their credit card number and expiration date.

The students enjoyed using English in practical, real-world situations. We’ll keep building these
skills throughout the semester!
