We’re going to look at boxing idioms for the next couple of weeks.
今週からはボクシングでのイディオムを紹介していきますね♪
Come out fighting/swinging
It means to attack your opponent aggressively from the start of the fight.
In team sports, we use it when it when a team starts the game with a lot of energy and attacking.
For example:
“He really came out swinging there! What an amazing start to the fight!”
その彼の攻撃はすごかったですね！試合の素晴らしいスタートですね！
Osaka Ganba really came out swinging at the start of the first half. They made a lot of chances!”
前半の序盤では大阪ガンバがすごい勢いで攻撃しました。得点するチャンスがたくさんあったね！
