Craig here. Just an update on one of the sports English modules.

クレイグです。今回はスポーツ英語の科目につて話したいと思います。

In this module we focus on rugby.

この科目はラグビーに基づいています。

The students have done a really good job of understanding the basic rules for rugby and scoring.

多少複雑ですが、学生はラグビーの基礎ルールと得点の仕方を頑張って覚えています。

Recently, we have been looking at some actual games from the last world cup.

最近前回日本で開催されたラグビーW杯の実際の試合をいくつか見ています。

We look at summaries of the match, compare stats, watch highlights and listen to post match interviews.

試合後のインタビュー・ハイライト・統計また試合の総まとめを教材にし授業をしています。

The students seem to be enjoying the classes and have learned a lot of useful phrases from the interviews especially.

学生は楽しく勉強できているようで嬉しいです。試合後インタビューは特に勉強になっているようです。

Here are some examples:

“The score didn’t reflect how they played.”

得点と内容は違います。

“They exploit the space outside of you.”

「この相手が」外のスペースを有効に使います。
