Just an update on the football module we have been doing.  This week we had the final test for this module.

今回はサッカーに基づいた科目について話したいと思います。今週はこの科目の最終テストを実施しました。

I really like football so I’m sad that there are no more football classes.

私はサッカーが大好きで、もうサッカーの授業がないと考えると、少し寂しいです。

However, the students seem to enjoy it and they also said they learned a lot about how to speak about sports in English.

しかし、学生は楽しそうに授業を受けていて、かなり勉強になったとの声もあったので、良かったと思います。

In the test we listen to commentary from a game and then the students have to answer questions about the play.

テストでは、実際の試合のゲームの実況を少しだけ聞き、学生は質問に答えないといけません。

They also make comments about player stats, equipment, positions and people at the match.

選手の成績、用具について、ポジション、また、スタジアムで働いている様々な役割についての質問もあります。

At our school, there are 9 different sports English modules.  5 in first year and 4 in second year.

スポーツ外国語学科では、スポーツ英語が全体9科目あります。1年目は５科目で2年目は4科目あります。

You can learn about general sports English, Soccer, Basketball, Tennis, Golf, Track and field events, rugby, baseball, American football and discussions about problems in sports.

スポーツ全般・サッカー・バスケットボール・テニス・ゴルフ・陸上競技・ラグビー・野球・アメフト、そしてスポーツ時事問題に基づいた科目を提供しています。
