縦横無尽

【意味】

物事を思い通りに自由に行うこと。

To have complete control over everything you do and what happens.  Usually used in sports.

【例文】

運動の得意な友達が、球技大会で縦横無尽に活躍する。

My sporty friend always kills it at ball sports tournaments.

To kill it = to do really well at something = 大活躍する・縦横無尽に活躍する

to be sporty = 運動が得意な
