The XFL and the USFL are two competing professional football leagues.

XFLとUSFLは、互いにしのぎを削っているプロのアメリカンフットボールリーグです。

While they are not a billion-dollar business like the NFL, they are trying to compete for fans and market share.

NFLのように膨大なお金が動くビジネスではありませんが、ファンとマーケットシェアを競い合っています。

The XFL is owned by a business group represented by Dwayne Johnson and the USFL is owned partly by FOX Sports  (FOX Corp.).

XFLはドウェイン・ジョンソンが代表のビジネスグループ、USFLは一部FOXスポーツ（FOXコーポレーション）によって所有されています。

Each league has 8 teams from around the United States and also slight variations on the rules that govern the games.

各リーグはアメリカ合衆国内の8つのチームからなり、試合を左右するルールは少し異なります。

Major differences include but aren’t limited to; shorter play clocks, scoring after a touchdown, kickoffs, replays, and overtime formats.

主な違いは、プレー時間が短いこと、タッチダウン後のスコア数、キックオフ、リプレイ、そして延長戦のルールですが、その他にも様々な違いがあります。

The changes should make for more exciting and fast-paced games.

こうした違いがある事で、よりエキサイティングで展開の早い試合が多いと言われています。
