Recently, the number of foreign tourists coming to Japan has increased. I can see a lot of foreigners around Osaka as well.
I think many of them are wondering what to eat in Osaka, so I would like to introduce my favorite restaurant.
Do you know the foods that Osaka is famous for? Osaka is famous for takoyaki, okonomiyaki and kushikatsu.
There are many restaurants in Osaka where you can eat those, and many tourists who come to Osaka often visit these restaurants.
I would especially like to focus on kushikatsu.
Do you know what kushikatsu is? It is skewered meat, vegetables and seafood that are deep fried in oil. You eat them by dipping them in a sauce.
There are many delicious kushikatsu restaurants around Osaka. Many people have probably heard of the restaurant called “Kushikatsu daruma”. It is very famous in Osaka I think.
“Kushikatsu Daruma” have their main store in Shinsekai, but there are many stores in Umeda and Shinsaibashi as well.
However, I would like to introduce my favorite kushikatsu restaurant.
I would like to recommend the kushikatsu restaurant called “Yaekatsu”. It’s located in Shinsekai near Tsutenkaku tower. You get off at Dobutsuen-mae Station on the Osaka Metro Midosuji Line or Sakaisuji Line. You can also go there from Shin-Imamiya Station on the JR Osaka Loop Line. You will see a hot spring called “Spa World” in front of the station. Walk towards that building and you will find a street called “Jyan-jyan Yokocho”. My favorite restaurant is on this street.
The building is easy to spot, since it has a large LED sign board.
Why do I like this restaurant?? Well, I have 2 reasons.
First, their shrimp kushikatsu is very big. The shrimp is so plump and the texture is wonderful! I want everyone to try it at least once in their lives.

Second, they also have very delicious doteyaki. I think it is the most delicious doteyaki I have ever eaten.
Doteyaki is a stew beef tendon in miso. It’s one of the specialties in Osaka.

The prices in this restaurant are higher compared to other restaurants, but there are a lot of things on the menu, which are definitely worth the price.

By the way, there is always a line, so it’s better to go early. I went there at 10:30am, but I had to wait in line for 30 minutes.
So if you want to eat kushikatsu or visit Shinsekai, please visit “Yekatsu”. There is no doubt it will become a good memory of your trip to Osaka.
