These are common expressions used in English that are taken from baseball and other sports.

英語には野球やその他のスポーツからの共通の表現方法があるんです。

Idioms are expressions where the meaning is not taken directly from each of the words it is made from.

イディオムは、元の単語の意味とは異なる特殊な意味を表す言い回しのことです。

These idioms have their own meanings in their sport, but when used outside of baseball or their referenced sport, they have a similar “feel” to it.

これらのイディオムはスポーツ界では独自の意味があります。けれど、野球やその他のスポーツ以外で使う時には、（全く同じではありませんが、）似かよった”感じ”がありますね。
