Hi guys.  This is the last sports idiom in this series.  This one is from baseball.

To cover all the/your bases

In baseball this means to protect all of the bases and stop runners form scoring runs.

We use this phrase when we do something extra to make sure something goes well or stop any potential problems.

野球では出塁を許してしまった後に失点を防ぎたいため、（牽制球や捕球・送球など含め）しっかりと

ベースカバーし守備を固くしたいときに使います。

日常会話では『備えあれば患いなし』や『念のため』のようなニュアンスがあり問題抑制や問題を防ぎたいときによく使う表現です。

We use this is daily conversation very often!

For example:

I think $50 will be enough money for our trip tomorrow

but I’m going to take $100 just to cover all the bases.

明日の旅行は50ドルあれば十分かもしれないけど、

念のために100ドルを持って行こうかなぁ。
