We finished our first week of lessons here and all of the students seem to be getting comfortable with all the changes happening around them. Our second-year students are getting used to the new building while our first-year students are getting used to just being in a new environment.

ここでのレッスンの最初の週を終え、生徒たちは皆、周りで起こっているすべての変化に慣れてきたようです。2年生は新しい校舎に慣れ、1年生は新しい環境に慣れてきたようです。

The first-year students finished my Basic English I and Taping classes. In those classes they learned basic self-introductions and the difference between formal and informal introductions. They practiced them and also had practice introducing others as well. First years also had a taping class where they learned how to properly tape an ankle.

年生は基礎英語Ⅰとテーピングの授業を終えた。これらの授業では、基本的な自己紹介と、フォーマルな自己紹介とインフォーマルな自己紹介の違いについて学んだ。また、自己紹介の練習をし、他人を紹介する練習もした。また、1年生はテーピングの授業を受け、足首の正しいテーピングの仕方を学んだ。

My second-year lessons included Baseball, SNS, Speaking and Presentation, and the first half of one of our Situational English modules. The first semester’s focus is on Athletic Training skills. In my baseball lesson we just went over the basics. We started with just finding out what our students know about baseball. After that we read a brief history of baseball and finally, we went over what equipment is used or seen during a game. In SNS we talked about social networking and what this module is going to entail. In Speaking and Presentation, I introduced them to important presentation techniques. In our AT skills class, we focused on asking questions and identifying and talking about injuries and treatments.

私の2年目の授業は、野球、SNS、スピーキングとプレゼンテーション、そしてシチュエーション英語モジュールの前半でした。前期はアスレティック・トレーニングのスキルが中心です。野球のレッスンでは、基本的なことを学びました。まず、生徒が野球について何を知っているかを知ることから始めました。その後、野球の簡単な歴史を読み、最後に試合中にどのような用具が使われたり、見られたりするのかを確認しました。SNSでは、ソーシャル・ネットワーキングとこのモジュールの内容について話した。スピーキングとプレゼンテーションでは、重要なプレゼンテーションのテクニックを紹介した。ATスキルの授業では、質問すること、怪我や治療法を特定し話すことに焦点を当てました。
