Craig here with this week’s sports idiom!  Here’s another boxing idiom for you!

今年最後のクレイグのスポーツイディオムは、再びボクシングよりです☆彡

Throw in the towel

It means to give up.  In boxing, coaches from the boxer’s team throw the towel in the ring to stop the fight. We al so use it every day conversation!

それはあきらめることを意味します。 ボクシングでは、ボクサーのチームのコーチがリングにタオルを投げて戦いを止めます。 毎日の会話にも使っていますよ！

For example:（訳はコテコテの関西弁です♪）

“I really don’t like my job.  I thinking about throwing in the towel…”

今の仕事はあんま好きちゃうから、もうやめよっかなぁ。

“Really? That’s too bad.”

ほんまに？　それめっちゃ残念やわ。
