There are many ways how to study English.

And today I am going to introduce you something that my teacher introduced me, when I was wondering how to study English.
I’m going to talk about how to study English using movies and drama series.

When I asked my teacher for help, there were two series he recommended and both were American comedy TV shows – Friends and Brooklyn Nine-Nine. 

You can learn a lot of useful English phrases that you can use in daily conversations.
For example I learned “Can you articulate on that?” and “What’s new?” from Brooklyn Nine-Nine.

I think it’s a good way to study, but it might be a little bit difficult for beginners, so let me introduce what to watch if you’re a beginner.

First, I recommend short videos or movies for kids. Movies for kids are simple and easy to understand.

However, don’t just watch the movies. When you come across a sentence you don’t understand, you should either google it up or ask your teacher. Then, once you understand the meaning, try making sentences or write a story using the words and phrases you’ve learned! It is important to output all the new phrases you’ve just learned.

If you have trouble catching phrases when watching a movie, try listening to the same phrase repeatedly or slowing the video down.

If you want to practice pronunciation, imitate the person speaking in the movie and then ask your teacher to check the pronunciation you’ve been working on.

I think this is a great method if you can’t find a good way how to study English.
In my case, I improved my listening skills and learned new vocabulary using this method.
