Here is an update on the phonics class.

発音法の授業について話したいと思います。

We have finished doing all the vowels sounds and we started practicing linking words.

最近までは、英語の基本母音と子音の練習を終え、今週から単語の繋ぎ方について勉強していきます。

You can link consonants to consonants, consonants to vowels and vowels to vowels.  For example, how would you say this?

子音と子音、子音と母音、そして母音と母音という3つの繋ぎ方かあります。例えば、下記の文章はどうやって発音しますか。

“I got up at 8.”

私は8時に起きました。

When we link words, it sounds more like this “I go tu pa teight.”

単語を繋ぐと、アイ・ゴ・タ・パ・テイのように聞こえますよ！

The students are really surprised at how much the pronunciation can change when we link words.

学生は、このように、ことばをリンクすることによって、どのように発音が変化するのかについてすごく驚いていましたよ。

It’s good for their listening and speaking skills.

こういうことを知ると、リスニングスキルにも繋がりますね。
