Here we are again, training hard. In the first blog I showed you the roleplay section of the Physical English lesson. Now let’s have a look at the competition side. In the roleplay side, we went over things you would hear in the sporting environment.
さて今回は、トレーニングの話です。最初のブログでは、フィジカルイングリッシュの授業のロールプレイの部分をご紹介しました。今回は競技部分を見ていきたいと思います。ロールプレイ部分では、スポーツ関係でよく耳にする会話を学習しました。
Here we put those things into physical practice by doing a series of competitive sports and challenges in order to test how well they do under pressure.
ここでは、そのロールプレイで学んだことを、プレッシャーがかかる状況での競争と挑戦の連続の中で、どれほど上手に発揮できるか体を使った練習で落とし込んでいきました。
Today’s lesson was a test of balance, dexterity and endurance.
For the balance challenge, the students had to get from the start line to the finish line by standing on the circle pads provided. If they touched the floor, they had to go back to the start line.
今日の授業ではバランス、機敏さ、そして持久力のテストでした。
バランスチャレンジでは、学生はスタートラインから、配布された円状のパッドの上に立ちながら、ゴールまで進んでいきます。（下記の写真）もし、床に触ってしまったら、またスタートラインに戻ってやり直しです。
For the dexterity challenge, the students again had to travel from the start line to the finish line. But this time they had to pull hula-hoops over their heads and jump to the next hoop and continue. 1 mistake, for example hitting the hoop on your gluts, would cost you valuable seconds in the race.
機敏さのチャレンジでは、学生はまた、スタートラインからゴールまでの旅路が待っています。しかし、今回、彼らはフラフープの中に入って、フラフープを頭の方まで上げてジャンプして次のフラフープまで行く、それを繰り返します。例えば、フラフープが腰にあたってしまうなど、一つのミスで大切なレースの時間を失ってしまいます。（下の写真）
And the finally challenge, endurance. Here the students are given a die each, On the faces of the die, are exercises. The students must do all the exercises on the die to win. This is also luck based, thus endurance. If you are unlucky, you could end up doing the same exercise 3 or more times (30 pushups!!!)
最後に持久力のチャレンジです。ここでは、各学生が表面にエクササイズが書かれたサイコロを手にします。学生は勝つためにすべての面に書かれたエクササイズをしないといけません。これは運任せとも言えますが、持久力が大切です。もし、運がなければ同じエクササイズを３回以上やっても負けてしまう可能性もあります。例えば腕立て伏せ30回！
