今日は、前期を振り返って、クレイグ先生のマネジメント英語の授業の紹介です。

昨日のブログで紹介しました「マネジメント英語」その後の授業の内容です。

Management skills classes were fun recently.

この間のマネジメント英語がすごく楽しかったので紹介したいと思います。

We had a practical session where the students practiced checking information over the phone.

今回は、実用的授業のため、電話越しでの情報確認を練習しました。

This involves correcting people politely, confirming and asking people to repeat information.

この授業では、学生はペアになり1人は先生から持った選手の情報を確認するために、事務所役のもう1人の学生に電話します。

相手に丁寧に情報を伝えたり確認したりするのはもちろんですが、相手の情報が間違ってる時、失礼がないように伝える練習にもなるので、学生にとっていい経験だったと思います。

This can be difficult because it involved using a lot of numbers and we can’t see the other person so it’s harder to communicate well.

相手の表情も見えなくて会話の中でたくさんの数字も出てくるので、難しい活動でしたが、よく頑張りました。

The students seemed to really enjoy it and the class felt like a busy office!

活動中は、教室がまるでコールセンターのようににぎやかで学生も楽しそうでした。

Students used phrases like

“Did you say…”  すみません、○○と言いましたか。

“I’m sorry, I didn’t catch that.”　すみません、聞き取れませんでした。

“Do you mean…” 　○○ということですか。

Students learn other skills through practical sessions like this in our management English course.

This is a great way to get used to using English in a workplace setting.

マネジメント英語の授業では、様々な実践的なビジネススキルを身に着け、

卒業後にも英語を使用し職場で活躍することを目的としています。
